EVENTS CALENDAR/NEWSLETTER OPPORTUNITIES
The Meriden Arts Council produces a quarterly arts events calendar. Events are submitted via an online form. We need someone to format the event data into a calendar for printing each quarter.

The calendar is distributed to various public locations throughout Meriden, Southington and Wallingford. We need help with the distribution, labeling and mailing calendars to our membership, as well as mailing or dropping of at our public locatons.

We also like to include articles relating to the arts in our community. This could be done by the editor, or anyone interested in submitting an article.

This opportunity can be a simple as writing and submitting the occasional article, or as much as you care to put into it. We'd love someone with some marketing skills to help make our calendar into an eye catching useful community tool.

Good computer skills needed for layout of calendar. Marketing or graphic design would be helpful. No skills required for someone willing to help with distribution.

STUDENT LIASON
Each year the Meriden Arts Councils recruits board members from the local high schools. This gives the students an opportunity to see what it's like to be part of a non-profit organzation, and helps us keep in touch with our community. We'd like to have this years Youth Arts Council organize and present an art show. From creating a prospectus, finding a venue, jurying the work and hanging the show. We'd like one to three adult volunteers to work with the kids this year, starting with the new school year in September.

GROUP HISTORIAN
The Meriden Arts Council would like an individual to be our group historian. This person would be responsible for collecting and archiving news articles, fliers, pictures, etc pertaining to the Arts Council. We have a place on our website to store information, so the ability to work with electronic files would be helpful.

MARKETING
The Meriden Arts Council would like someone with marketing experience to help us find effective ways to promote our calendar and website.

MEMBERSHIP
The Meriden Arts council needs help maintaining our membership database, sending out membership renewals, and recruiting new members.
